What is Regaine for Women Regular Strength?
Regaine for Women Regular Strength is a 2% scalp solution of Minoxidil for women between the ages of 18 to 65 and used to treat hereditary hair loss, also known as female pattern hair loss.
How does it work
The active ingredient of Minoxidil works by increasing the blood flow to the hair growing cells in the scalp to promote hair regrowth and prevent further hair loss.
How do I use it
This solution is a topical treatment and should be applied twice daily to the affected areas of the scalp.
Your hair and scalp must be completely dry before you use Regaine for Women Regular Strength. Apply about 1ml to the affected area twice a day with the applicator (12 hour interval between applications). Remember to wash your hands thoroughly after use.
Do not apply more than 2ml per day and not more than twice a day. Exceeding this limit will not help grow hair faster but may increase the side effects.
What if I miss a dose
If you miss a dose of Regaine solution just apply the next time as normal, without increasing the dosage or amount to make up for the missed applications.
How long does it take to work
Since hair regrowth is a slow process, it can take a few months for the treatment to work. However, used continuously, studies show that 3 out of 5 women reported hair regrowth just 32 weeks after using Regaine 2% solution for women.
There might be a temporary increase in hair loss after the first 2-6 weeks of use, but soft new hair will grow and continue to strengthen as normal hair with time.
How is it different from Regaine for Women Extra Strength Foam 5%?
The main difference is that the solution is a regular strength of 2%, and therefore, needs to be applied more often than the foam, which is at a extra strength of 5% and so only needs to be applied once per day.
Both treatments are topical and should be applied to the affected areas of the scalp. Also, they can both be used by women between the ages of 18 to 65.
Is Regaine for Women Regular Strength right for me?
This medication is a treatment for female pattern hair loss only. It works best in younger women who have had thinning hair for a short period and will not help for hair loss caused by underlying conditions such as pregnancy and chemotherapy.
