What is Daktarin Oral Gel?
Daktarin Oral Gel helps to soothe and clear oral thrush, a fungal yeast infection of the mouth and throat. Oral thrush can be triggered by a variety of factors, such as illness, pregnancy, medications, smoking or wearing dentures. The treatment consists of a 2% concentration of the active ingredient miconazole, which targets the fungi and prevents it from growing and reproducing. It reduces symptoms in as little as one day, but may take up to seven days to completely clear symptoms.

How do I use Daktarin Oral Gel?
After washing your hands thoroughly, apply approximately 2.5ml (½ measuring spoon) to the affected area 4 times a day after meals. Try not to wash the gel off with saliva straight away, as it will be more effective the longer the gel is in contact with the affected area. For children, only apply to the front of their mouth. For those with dentures, apply directly to the dentures whilst they are removed at night so that they too don’t become infected.
Continue the treatment for 7 consecutive days, even if the oral thrush symptoms have cleared, as the infection can still be present.
